yay, fall

Weather was gorgeous this past weekend, so I actually got out and walked a bit around Weston Reservoir. Somehow, I always end up not getting out there until late afternoon. That does result in some beautiful slanting light through trees moments. This time I played with some manual ISO settings in an attempt to capture what I was seeing -- this is a spot where the path is wide, but in shadow, and just beyond the rise is a long narrow open swampy space, creating this contrast of glowing green/gold light. It's not *quite* what you see, because the foreground that you're standing in doesn't seem quite so dark. But I think my camera isn't good enough to capture that and still keep the background's glowing quality without washing it out. So for now, this will do. I have a lot of CA trip photos to post. I gotta get to that soon. You have been warned.

Somehow! Gee, I wonder... :)

And while I'm here -- what tv did you all watch this weekend? So I know what to catch up with.

Well, I don't exactly SLEEP until 2pm! It's just... puttering, and finding things to do, and showering, and then somehow it always seems like it would be better to go for the walk on the way *back* from running errands, which always takes longer than initially anticipated...

Let me think...

We watched... Hawaii 5.0 (the second one, I think, but not the third); Terriers (you should watch that one, it was very plot-important in several ways, or we can bring you up to speed if you don't care to); and, um, Lost Girl, the third or fourth one (not really that plot important). We had but didn't watch Boardwalk Empire, deciding we didn't care that much.

Lovely photo! And I agree with how hard such a shot is. I've got one from up north that I took a few weeks ago that I'll be posting in the nextfew days. I struggle with the depth of field, trying to capture the subjecive feel of it all. *hugs*
