Dec. 23rd, 2006

Yeah, I've been quiet lately. I do have stuff to post about (various things: went to a Canucks game on Thurs! an SGA ep write-up; etc.), and maybe I'll get to that over the lovely week off that I have coming. And thanks to having gone to Revels last night, I now feel at least a little bit of holiday spirit (The theme this year was German, and it was actually fairly successfully christmassy, which other regular attendants of the Cambridge Revels know is sometimes less the case than more.)

In the meantime, a look at the kind of stuff I do in my spare time that I don't generally show to LJ, which will also serve as a blanket holiday "card" to all of you -- yes, it's geeky, and if you aren't familiar with comics you probably won't get it, in which case, just admire the tree, because that, everybody should get. ;-)

Welcome, Yule!

So, Merry Whatever You're Celebrating to everybody on my flist! Ho ho ho.

OMG! I thought I knew a bunch of the stuff you don't share with LJ, but OMG. (Am I supposed to actually be able to recognize any of them? And hee, I saw an Elf Quest request go by in the mass of Yuletide pinch-hits.)

Oh, and was talking to Jen earlier, and we've decided that the next time I'm up, possibly mid-January, we all have to get together at the same time.

Thanks. :) And no -- they're all original characters from a small fan group that's set in the EQ world but that has a completely different storyline, where members each run a character in a sort of story-and-art-based RP way.

Also -- heh! You know, even had I signed up for Yuletide, it wouldn't necessarily have occured to me to put down that I could handle an EQ request. (Not that I've ever done stories for EQ canon characters, but still.)

Indeed, Jen let me know. :) I'm up for it -- the proposed timing sounds good to me! Yay!

Oooh, the idea now is that weekend, and I was thinking coming up the Friday and going back the Monday, but that could possibly be stretched...hmmm.

Well, I'll be around on the Monday at least for breakfast or something, though I can't promise sanity. Just let me know--I'd love to see you.

Yay! Woo! One suspects you'll be pretty busy and frazzled on the actual 14th, though. (Or, need rescuing? Who knows...)

The actual 14th is a lost cause at this point--I'm driving from Madison to Boston in two days (not my idea!), so I'm sure I'll be in fairly late. Alas for fannish gatherings!

I MISSED Revels this year. On multiple levels; not only is it just Not Right to not be going to Sanders, but by the time I was done waffling about whether to go see the show in DC, they were already done. :(

I agree, it would be weird to go to Revels at someplace besides Sanders. And the strange early timing of other Revels catches me off-guard as well. Another friend from my flist, chelidon, has been part of Revels North for a couple of years now, up in NH, and I always think that I will make an effort to go up and see their performance... and invariably, such as this year, I am caught off-guard by it being over before I expect it to be. (He was just posting last week about it being over, and I sort of looked up and said, "....what? already?")
