Cure for grumpy...

I'm really behind (I have hawk pics, truly!) and am having a weird week of ups and downs, and this morning I had an unpleasant confrontation with a resident on the street where I park to commute (let's put it this way: if you want to try to convince someone of something, including your own moral superiority, leading off with being insulting, threatening, and condescending probably isn't the way to do it), which made me extremely grumpy.

However! I encourage everyone to watch the following, because I can think of few better quick cures for a bad mood:

I'm serious, just stick with it.

That is a great video. I'm amazed at the choreography it must have taken.

I have a hawk story!

I heard a hawk cry outside and then noticed I could hear smaller angry birds fussing as well (I often leave my sliding door to the porch open). I went out onto the porch and there was a hawk perched in the very top of a pine tree while smaller birds fussed around it. The hawk cried a few more times, I ran in to get my camera, and right when I was about to get a photo it flew off, the smaller birds in pursuit. I think it was a redtail but the light was behind it so I'm not completely sure.

Ha! Not the best flashmob I've seen (I like the Glee ones, and SK likes the one with the protesters using a Lady Gaga song to protest an anti-labor hotel. "Don't get caught in a bad hotel." But this is cute, and so European and serious!

I'm fascinated with the execution of these things. Is there a practice? Where and when? How does the choreographer recruit people?

That is indeed awesome-- I have the same questions as Raqs, too! And also, WHERE do I get the remix version of that song? Srsly, that's just a BRILLIANT combo...(said she who grew up on the original Mary Martin soundtrack, but will happily take Julie Andrews' version anytime).
